Founded in February 2012, Ladies of hope is a community-based organization in the Grogan village in Korogocho. It empowers young girls and young mothers, bringing them together to disengage in prostitution and educate them about alternatives for employment.
It started small with 30 girls, all of whom are still members. This is a unique group since there is no other organisation in Korogocho dealing with prostitution and young mothers who are left idle and more vulnerable to risk.
The group saves 50/= every Tuesday then distributes the amount among group members. They also collect 20/= per person per week.
